mt pleasant cemetery, queen anne , seattle, wa

The first four images are the four sides of the Nelsom Memorial

Mt Pleasant Cemetery,  I am sure I have driven past you before - assuming without much more the a quick glance to be a park- so obviously hidden from me- right there yet never seen.
Founded (like my present obsession Comet lodge cemetery)
by the Oddfellows, home to first Jewish cemetery. The only cemetery in Seattle still family owned.

the cemeteries of Roslyn, wa

the three images below of from the memorial to the fire jumpers who died fighting the thirty mile fire
an afternoon stroll through roslyn then parked the car in the cemetery section of the town. it was it's own neighborhood rather then something which felt confined to a parks boundaries or a churchyards walls. it was sprawling and as in your typical neighborhood there were defined spaces which sectioned off those of an affiliation or persuasion with wrought iron or wood. there was a whole space devoted to the fire fighters who died in the thirty mile fire back in 2001.
