Roslyn, Cemetery

down the rows of St Barbara
put back together again
Roslyn as always fantastic- some works been done to reconstruct some graves gone wild- fresh concrete in places.

wild turkeys , greenwood cemetery, spokane, wa

well this was a pleasure to see these fellows meandering through Greeenwood Cemetery, Spokane, Wa
wild turkeys in spokane- they reminded me a bit of the guys from the Dark Crystal-
although I havent watched that in 20 some years so maybe - or maybe not.
we worried about whether or not the cemetery was closing or closed- til seeing several other car travelers moving through the place and knew that we were safe.
looking for the 1,000 steps as it seems to be main spot you find when searching for haunted Spokane. did not find it this evening instead did a fast ish tour of all the cemetery space there and then headed to pick up fruit at Huckleberries- we're we got some organic grapes that were yum and some what more affordable then usual. and then went for a swim.

Some residents of the St Barbara section, Roslyn, Wa

so the photos on the graves were an custom brought from Slavic immigrants.

Pothocary Grave, Roslyn ,Wa

some graves are more attractive then others- when a bent fence is added i am drawn in. not that the bent fence was an intentional addition by the owner - but there's nothing like seeing something meant to last an "eternity" warped and twisted it's existence itself suffering scoliosis  (although i hear the modern eternity is much shorter then in previous centuries - you don't get what you used to get when purchasing eternity is what i am saying - i think it is made in China now as well.)
Here is the bent fence of the Pothocary Grave , the lady buried here is A.Pothocary (anna.)

Giovanni Spada, Roslyn, Wa

 loved the hearts.

Frank Stimach and Baby Roy Stimach at Roslyn,Wa

Baby Roy.
I have another grave of the surname Stimach I will add here-
I was wondering if someone who was related to all these older graves placed the plastic flowers at their sites or if it was just a cemetery habit to put fake flowers everywhere?
Is there someone out there especially visiting Baby Roy?

are they related? i would say the artistry of the stones is of a similar vein but graves not  next to one another.
these were in the St Barbara section of the cemetery.

Lizard visiting day at Roslyn Cemertery

we visited the cemetery and so did this lizard. he wasn't sharing his visit with us however and would rather be on his own.
