Russian Veterans Church Monument of st nicholas, 1936, Washelli cemetery, Seattle.
inside the Russian Veterans monument. the door was open that day i don't know if by mistake , we went inside carefully, some disarray and some neglected religious paraphernalia. it looked like both having just been used and having been just forgotten. we visited again and the door was very much locked so i am thankful i had the opportunity to sneak a peek one november 2007 day.

i thought i had more images but maybe this is another opportunity to re photograph in some future time,

with more then a point and shoot panoramic camera. that actually served well in some cases for it's widescreen appearance. it would appear my interests were in the disrepair.

Majorca/mallorca, Spain

back in 1995 i went to majorca with my ex husband , it was our honey moon we were there in totally the wrong season, it was april and the air was chilly so tropical island it was not. i have just turned over these negatives from the heap of unidentifieds where it was residing. they are totally buggered the negs and badly processed at the time i was processing in a closet that was rather narrow and when the negatives didn't go on the spool well all hell broke loose in a tiny space amongst myself the canister the film and elbows and walls.
so their lack of identification and their foul processing has led them to be slightly lacking in contrast and completely reticulated . the reticulation of the film matched by it's being horribly scratched and marred which some would scoff at BUT i totally love for these images.
they are totally decrepit!

churchyard in victoria park , london

this was a churchyard one block from my house in victoria park , my first flat in london in 1994. we had a gas and electric key to power our house with heat and light and the nearest off licence that charged them closed earlier then most so we often ran out of both.

woodland burials, Barton, Cambridge, UK 2003

i can remember what we were searching for at the time, this might have been an aimless adventure of thoughts of seeing what we find along the way. and what we did find was a site set up for woodland burials although you'd think it more a moors burials judging by the uh lack of woods.

nunhead cemetery,

to bring some added life to the cemetery , the clan.

in the center of the church space

another one of London's beautiful Victorian cemeteries. was not much awrae of this one until our friend Pippin suggested it. we didn't live all that far but it was tucked away so as never to have been noticed when driving through Southwark in previous adventures. Nunhead felt much more airy and open and rolling then abney park or highgate which always felt more like entering the shrubbery and vines and distancing from the outside world. Like Abney this cemetery has a hollowed out church at the centre but unlike abney it appears the church is still used despite it's rootlessness, the centre still fit for memorials , perhaps more so without the roof.
